Does AI Client run AI models on my PC? +
No. AI Client has no model engine of its own; each AI request goes to the active AI Server or to a provider you select.
Do I need AI Server? +
You need a server or provider for AI Client to use. AI Server is free on one computer, so you can run both on the same PC to try it.
Is connecting to a server on another computer free? +
Connecting to an AI Server on the same computer is free. Connecting to an AI Server on another computer is an AI Client Pro feature, and that server needs AI Server Pro to serve the network.
How is AI Client licensed for a team? +
AI Client Pro Commercial is licensed per seat, monthly or annually, from Microsoft Store or the Software Tailor Store.
I already use AI Client. What happens to my data? +
The Microsoft Store update keeps the same product, recognises eligible earlier Pro purchases and brings compatible settings, chats, prompts and memory into the new version without deleting the old data.
